Any idea on these pieces? Game? Toys?

These are either before my time or after but they are made of wood, unlike the junky toys made today.

Not sure what the figures are but could they have had parachutes attached?

There were a few of each color in the bag I purchased at a sale for $1.50.. I just though they were odd/interesting

Wood
4.5 inches tall
2.5 inches wide
5/8 inch thick

They remind me of the old wooden puzzle pieces.

You stack each man on the shoulders of each other. Start with one in the center and mount two others on the side of the one standing. The two will balance the one in the center. The trick is to see how many you can stack up with out them all toppling over. They can also stand on the head of each other. Boy do those take me back a long time ago. A toy from the early 1960's.... They were fun to play with.

Thanks a bunch, tamrock! I knew someone here would be able to identify these mystery pieces. These were just a few years before my time.. I'm glad that we found them interesting enough to take home with us

The ones in your pic look like they were loved very much
