interesting rock??

found this today. its 2 inches long 2 inches tall and 1 inch thick. its polished on the bottom and one side. the rest of it has a rough texture to it. i have nothing to compare it to. i was thinking maybe a grinding stone of some sort. like to hear your opinions. thanks

That's a Hammerstone and a very nice one at that. I usually don't bring those home much anymore, but that one I would have brought home with me.
