Ok I got the rest of the facts/story.
1962 Iorn City beer tested the pull tab - it was the "old style". The kind without the ring. They claimed success!
1963 Shlitz introduced their own "old style" pull tab.
1965 the "ring" pull tab was designed and used.
So for most of us - 1965 is the year. This is good information to have as a treasure hunter.
