Good job on cleaning! Estimated 750 up. Not bad! :icon_thumleft:

It's a beautiful thing. Viking finds are all amazing in my book

Cheers Scrappy, the mount is from an Irish maybe monastic work shop. It was later acquired by the Vikings in Ireland, and taken to England.

That is seriously cool.

ROB AWESOME FIND .....

Now the iron fixings are clear, a shield mount can't be ruled out either. Looks great, I would not be able to sell that one!

Cheers diggingthe1, Yes if it could speak, it would have a tale to tell.

Nice find Rob! Sorry to hear you are selling out your finds but I'm sure you are doing it for a good reason. Take care and HH, Mike.

Hello Mike, nice to hear from you. My son and his girlfriend are buying a house. They need a hand with the deposit, and it is a pleasure to help. I'm very thankful for metal detecting. I know now why I kept so much stuff over the years.:treasurechest:

Beautiful!!! Absolutely!!! :occasion14:I would have to keep that as well!!

I figured you had a good reason and taking care of the family is number one, I would/will do the same. Buying a house in England is a big deal, wish you and your son good luck bro. My house is kicking my ass at this time and I don't have much time to detect, really sucks, LOL. HH, Mike
