anyone have a guess to what this may be?
It's from an area that has had civil war artillery and infantry troops on it, ..and also
has had a homestead since the mid 1700's.
At one end it is flattened out (almost like a pry bar) the other end is pointed.

Just curious, is the point square like a square nail? Or round like a more modern tool. My scientific wild azzed guess, (swag)
and I do mean WILD guess, at only four inches long, it could be a hoof pick, for cleaning mud and rocks out of a horse's foot.

The point is square.

I would assume age would be 1800's,
Like the time period for the square nail?
