well if they allowed a non muslim , catholic American to come and find and take stuff back home ...I for one would love to metal detect a area with such deep history .... what you got all kinds of metal historical battlefield items and coins from many thousands of years of fighting by all kinds of forces --both local and foreign items just waiting to be found..

its so sad that ISIS is so into destroying the history of the middle east and its relics

as far as danger goes can't be much worse than some of the good but dangerous blighted "inner city" vacant lots that I hunt ....
