is a pinpointer necessary?

Well, I've had the Wizard Vib Probe for about 2 weeks now, and I can see why a pinpointer is good to have. It really helps to find mud-encrusted pennies! The only problem is that I've had to take the pinpointer apart 2x now because the wheel that's used to turn on and adjust the sensitivity keeps loosing it's screw. I think now that I've seen what a pinpointer can do, I'm going to invest in a better one. I've been going back and forth between the Tiny Tec and the Treasure Mate, with the VibraProbe coming in third. Has anyone ever had any experience with the first two choices?

Necessary no. Suggested YES. I won't hunt without one anymore. Just ordered the vibraprobe we'll see how it compares to the BEII from Whites.

Artemis Moon,

Have seen a Tiny Tec looks and performs fine. Treasure Mate is great, the most sensitive to gold. Works super. My only knock is it interfers with my EXP II. One draw back of multiples frequencies. I can use it with both my Whites detectors. A Bulls Eye II is good, I use an older Bulls Eye I.
