I was just wondering if any of you are checking the coin shops for silver coins? My local shops haven't been able to keep up with silver price increases and they have quite a few silver coins that are below the current silver prices. I know it isn't like getting half dollars at face value...but it is pretty good. I just bought a bunch of commemorative silver dollars well below silver value. I was just wondering if anyone else is doing that.

No ,but i'll check it out now that you've mentioned it. ;) good luck and H.H.

I am not currently buying, but if I could buy commemorative silver at below melt I would defiantly buy it. If silver continues to rise I am going to liquidate some of my common silver dollars. Good luck.

That's not a bad idea Bill. There are a lot of little junky gift shops here in Vegas and I've seen ridiculous things for sale like a roll of wheaties for $10, but I never thought of looking for silver.

It's a safe bet that pawn shops know what they've got but smaller shops and even yard sales, swap meets and flea markets may not realize silver's recent spikes.

Antique shops are a good place to hunt for silver too. I bought some morgans for $8 each today at one.
