Is it legal?

So having just moved up here from KY (where its definatly illegal to dig anywhere) I need to ask about the laws in the Columbus/Dublin area for detecting in parks and schools. Cant afford to go to jail with small amount of change I have dug up.

Give me some feed back please.

Metal detecting is permitted in Columbus parks.

You say it is illegal to dig anywhere. You mean you can not dig on private land with landowner permission. I have never had any problem anywhere in OH. If you go to a State Park you must stop at office and get a permit to detect and they will tell you where you can go. Hope you get some nice finds and get out and get permission to hunt others land, good luck.....Matt

Matt, I think Ian was talking about Kentucky being highly restricted, not Ohio. We do have our share of restrictions here though. I'm sure private property in Ohio and Kentucky are open for detecting and digging with permission.
