The creek bordering our property is where the town of Lexington, Ky was founded. I found this while wading & picking up trash. It's very heavy for its size, is it a musket ball & if so how old?

What is it made out of? Probably a lead? If not I hope it's a meteor?

Not magnetic, very heavy for its size.

Dating it (accurately) will be difficult. The next step is to measure the diameter (then convert to caliber if you want). Was this a subsurface object?

I picked it up in about 2 feet of fast flowing water on the creek bed, looked different than any of the rocks around it, no moss or rust. Perfect circle caught my eye.
