is the bounty hunter quick silver coil waterproof?

i bought one from my buddy and need to know if the coil is waterproof. i have seen them on ebay and they say that they are but im kinda scared to try it. so any feed back on this would be nice. thank you

All the BH coils are sealed watertight. You'll encounter no problems.

The coil is waterproof. I also have this detector and have submerged it in a stream.
