Yesterday turned out to be a very nice day. I took a walk and hunted two creek areas. I don't know if I should be encouraged or discouraged by my finds. First pic is of all the bottles (minus one large whiskey bottle that I broke) that I have found so far on this farm. The second is how I actually have them displayed. The third is what I found yesterday.

Thanks for looking!

Encouraged. Those are great bottles!

Very cool.Great display.

Looks good to me. The top pic is really sweet, that's a lot of cork top bottles.

You've done well, keep up the effort.

Best of luck to you.

Nice finds. And some of those shards in your third pic are great, definitely encouraging.

If I were you I'd walk the creek upstream until the glass stops appearing, and maybe then you'll be near the source. There's probably a dump somewhere nearby, perhaps in a ravine spilling down into the creek. And make sure to watch the creek walls, you might just see glass and debris poking out.

Good luck. Find some more!

Thank you. I think the best bottle of value is the Eastman Kodak. Most of the other bottles in display is from garage sales. There’s a few inherited pieces. I wish those itty bitty bottles were the real McCoy, but they’re not.

The one source is on my property and it is probably a dump site. I did dig some of those bottles from the creek wall there. The other source is coming from the neighbors property and I haven’t asked for permission, yet. That’s on the “ to do” list for this year.

It’s just such a bummer to see all broken pieces of what might’ve been.

Nice Finds! I never was a bottle digger but I dug pottery dumps in the late 1960s through 1970s and it always seemed like just when a site was petering out, a new one would open up. Good Luck!

Encouraged, by all means!

How old is that farm ?? Im sure you have told us but I cant remember . I would be encouraged because they are already there on your property. You could have an old privy too, so keep an eye out for low spots in the yard. Nice bottles wrightdigger !! Congrats.

I found the most last year because I was determined to find the source. I got a probe for Christmas 2016 & spent hours & days in 2017 trying to find a privy. No luck. Then I was told by another digger that since it's a farm in country, there probably wasn't any privy.
So, I started focusing on one creek wall. Stuck my hands in places I couldn't see and am lucky I didn't get bit by something. Found out the creeks have only been there since 1940's or 50's, created by drainage tiles. I guess I have dump sites.

Hey hey! You're straying onto dry land? Lol! I've found the original BLM sale was 1832 to a farmer/pastor. Thanks BB!

At least you found a nice golf ball.

Nice bottles, sounds like there's a bunch more there!

A little more yesterday

Great looking display of bottles and glass, many look very familiar from the collection of years ago. The small display of miniature bottles as we had quite a few of them also 45yrs ago though so they're getting some age to them also.
So many favourites medicines, inks, anything embossed are always a welcomed sight coming out of the dirt.

Have you a probe?

Digging glass anywhere is the best, any other relics that come along is just a bonus.

Dig-dig-till can dig no more!
