What they mean by 'post' mint damage is that it is not a mint error or something which happened to it at the mint.

It looks like a damaged cent. More specifically, that it had been deliberately hit with something like a hammer to make the edge/rim dent, and then gouged with a metal tool. Perhaps a screwdriver.

The reason that I reply to posts such as this is to help peoplel become more familiar with things like this that they may encounter and not be so certain of. There are many people who are new to the hobby and who have a lot to learn about coins due to the many areas of collecting that there are. I hope that this helps you (and maybe someone else who reads these posts), so that next time you see something like this, you will know that it is not an error coin, but one that was damaged by someone after it had left the mint.

Knowing the difference helps us to sort out what is and what is not an error or worth keeping. If you are in the hobby for a long time, then you find yourself looking at many, many coins. So, knowledge about such things is very important. Best wishes,

JDSCOIN :)
