Hi everyone, this is my 1st time posting in this category and I really don't know much about indian related artifacts. Yesterday I came across this little white piece while metal detecting that kind of looks like bone and I can see what looks like carving marks on it. I'm no expert but I'm sure someone here can give me a clue. I took multiple pics, differant angles and differant lighting, hope these eight pics are well enough.

Thanks in advance! Oh if it is native american, can you shed some light on the possible age?

Chris

Looks like a chewed down piece of antler. Porcupine, squirrel, etc. ???

Its bone or antler. In the forth pic you can see were the rodents have been gnawing on it, see the teeth marks. I see that a lot on deer sheds. So I don't think its an artifact, Keep looking tho. John

Thanks guys,

Okay, it's to my understanding that some little varmit chewed on some bone just to confuse me later on in life. It must've worked! ::)
