✅ SOLVED Is this considered a sunburst pattern?

All, found this flat button in an area where the other artifacts date between the mid-1700s to mid-1800s. Searched TNet and did an image search - but didn't find a close match. Is this considered a sunburst pattern? The reverse side has "RICH ORANGE GILT COLr" in indented letters.

Could you take a full pic of both sides along with a relation object like say... a nickel? What
material is it made of? thank you

In my opinion yes.

The reverse lettering suggests British manufacture within the time frame you mention for other artifacts from the site.

dz, thanks for looking. A pic of the back was posted along w/ a ruler for sizing. The button is made of brass. Of the 8 other flat buttons found at the site, this is the only 1 with a design on the front. Looking around, I see sunburst was a common pattern in the 19th c.

Almy, thanks and I agree. Perhaps the oldest flat button found there has no lettering on the back side and a "Shank cast in boss" per the diagram below. Note: The shank is bent over.
