Is this just a token? or something unusual?

I found this a couple weeks ago in the dirt in our front yard and can't find anything on it? Is it "just a token" or could it be something unusual? I am new to treasure hunting and was thrilled to find it being we live in a Civil war area.....

On one hand it may be "just a token".
On the other hand, it might be your first token found--so it has value far above what another treasure hunter might offer.
