Re: is this like flintdigger's big preform/chopper??

Steve that look's a whole lot like my piece, except mine has a little bit more of a point at the narrow end.

Nice Chopper Steve. It was probably used to crush bones and break them open to get to the marrow.

We call those BCT's or Big Choppy Things. ;D

I think SRV got it right. BCT that could have been used to crack open bones, break open bison skulls to get at the brains, etc. Not as pretty as some of the stuff you find, but still a really cool tool!

That is a interesting tool Steve, it look's like your tool might have a wider thicker edge that my piece

Can you imagine holding that in your hand and making quick work chopping out hind quarters seperating the hide and sinew from the meat on a buffalo. I think a tool like that in the hand would make quick work on a large animal. Nice tool Larson.

Steve I was looking at your tool again this morning it is very interesting, It seem's to be a bit larger and more oval shaped than mine with a kind of roughly shaped point. My piece seem's to have a bit more length and less of the oval shape and is roughly pointed also.
