Generly the circular working area was in the ground for easy support and sealing for the backing stones- walls.
Depending upon which period, they used old drill steel for the center pivot.? In the very early days, or in remote areas, they used stone for the pivot points.
Frankly, the center spot appears to be more of a post support for a? tent or building.
Also, most arrastres were form 3 -6 ft in diam. depending upon power available to rotate the cross beam
If it was a Spanish Arrestre, they used dragstones of up to 500#, they would stilll be at the site.
