I am so happy! I was just telling my dad the other day that I hadn't found any gold coins...yet. Hope springs eternal! Anywho, I couldn't hunt last week due to work. I got out yesterday, and yikes! It was a super day. I found the 3 gold rings, which are awesome. And wonder, of wonders, my first gold coins. Not just one, but three. God is good! Now, I know they are in a bracelet. A bracelet I found on the internet for $400 to $550. However, the coins are the real deal....1945 gold coins from mexico. I could blather on, and on.....but alas I must go to work. All the gold was found at my usual lake park. Close to the waters edge. I have been cleaning out every thing that beeps for about a year and its finally paying off. Is it worth it to dig up trash and pulltabs? You be the judge. Happy hunting and thanks for looking!

I dunno about the rest of that junk but that's a darn nice silver paper clip and the 1970 memmorial cent is to die fer.



I wunder what would happen if you crossed an Iskuli with a Crackbadger ?

Yes, a "Crackuli" would be downright dangerous with a Metal Detector.

? about the site if you don't mind. How much junk have you removed? Did you find anything good on the first few hunts to make you think it was worth clearing or did you research the area and just stick with it?

BigChief14 ~ I am happy to share my strategy with you. Just yesterday I had a new area I was testing out. It was by the lake, had some picnic benches by it, and looked like people probably swim there. I also know that this lake is over 50 years old.

First I grid out the area. Secondly, I hunt in high discrimination (no pulltabs/nickels/gold). I want to see how much clad, or silver there is in the area I am hunting. I recognize, of course, that I may be missing some of that stuff because if it's a trashy area, trash & treasure will flash off eachother. That being said, I love to find nickels and keys. If find those items and get real interested in the area and will clean it out!

Next, if I find one or more silver jewelry, I will remove discrimination and pull everything that makes a sound out of the ground.

I believe I am having such great luck now because I have 3 places I have been working this approach with and I believe ever pull is either pulltab or gold. It's really fun to hunt with that perspective. I bet I pulled up over 75 tabs. So............worth............it!

Iskuli, I tip my hat to you. You definately know how to get the Gold. I have not found that much in my whole detecting career. I have dug my weight in pull-tabs though.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Great Job! We got to get together and hunt one day, maybe we should head to AIKEN? LOL, anyway just wanted to tell u amazing job and you are a true hunter. I also love ur method of hunting. I know many people that stick to parks like you and dont have near the luck. I know it takes time and patience to pull stuff like that out of the ground and water.
