I did not find this with a metal detector but I am excited just the same.

I concentrate my history/relic gathering on the Battle of Mobile Bay and Baldwin and Mobile County, ALhistory.

Below is a receipt for Andrew Christianson who was aboard the USS Port Royal. I learned today that when a ship was captured that the spoils were sold off and shares were given out to the ship, Captain and crew. As you can see Christianson is credited with being part of the capture of the CSS Tennessee and the gunboat CSS Gaines.

I thought some of you might enjoy seeing it.

Trouble, it is getting harder and harder with all of the development but I have been able to get items from Fort Morgan, Fort Gaines, Spanish Fort and Fort Blakeley which were all part of the battle of Mobile Bay.
