There is a combination of old and modern finds in this location so sometimes it is really hard to determine the age of certain items but it was a very busy place during the Civil war and the area was first inhabited in the early 1600s.

The blade appears to be stainless steel, so it's no older than around 1920. Sheffield was first to begin making stainless cutlery about then. Not saying it's Sheffield, just that they were the first. Cool find.

Actually i think its brass, the picture doesnt show it very well but its not stainless.
