It’s been a long time since I’ve been detecting unfortunately. Life and grandkids got in the way. I used to be a regular here on TN.
I’m still using the Tesoro Vaquero.
I’m up in northern Indiana and decided to detect instead of fish this time.
Hit an early 1900’s farmhouse today and an 1840’s house yesterday. Lots of trash at both spots, but I came away with a few keepers. A 1947 dime, a 1943 standing liberty half, and a cool old 1960’s bowling belt buckle.
It was great to get out again and see silver in the hole.

Welcome back! Nice finds.

Nice finds thanks for sharing. Glad to see your back posting on here :)

That buckle is my favorite.
I achieved most improved average once....got a sew-on patch for my bowling shirt. Those were the days.

That '43 standing Liberty looks great on the side shown. I too am a grandfather and I got out today for the first time this summer. Glad you are enjoying the hobby again.

It's nice to hear from you modernminer! Looks like you had a fun and productive hunt. I completely understand about how fishing can cut into detecting time. The striped bass and bluefish have been hammering baitfish in Boston Harbor. I've been live-lining pogies with great success! Biggest bass was 40 inches...about 30 pounds..all done from a kayak. Sadly our fishing season will be wrapping up very soon....oh well...that will mean more time for detecting! Cheers!

That was “gaming” for us old timers. Bowling and pinball machines.

Nice finds. Good to see you back, always enjoyed your finds and humor on here. Lots of new faces since you were last on here.
Thanks Mike. I used to love joking around with the old gang. Made for a lot of fun. You are right, I don’t recognize many names anymore. When we moved from the Raleigh area where I had a lot of great spots, to the NC mountains, I just gave up and got into different things. We do a lot of traveling now between NC where we live, to Cleveland where our grandkids are, to my hometown of LaPorte,Indiana.
I plan on bringing the detector with me now so I can get in as much detecting as I can. I kept my two Tesoro UMax machines for the grandkids once they are of age. I’m sure they will enjoy the hobby.

Congrats on your finds, love the Walker and the bowling buckle! :hello2:

When I first saw this piece from a distance I thought... 'trade silver brooch'? :icon_scratch:

But then I realized that it's most likely be made of iron or brass.
