It's better than 23K GOLD ~ WOOHOO!!!

Hello!

I dug this gold ring a couple weeks ago at a local park. At the time I didn't know what the marking were inside in band, but someone in the WHATS-IT forum said it's Japanese for PURE GOLD. So . . . . yesterday I took the ring to a local coin/jewelry shop to have it tested . . . . yep, sure enough, it tested at very high . . . they said it's better than 23K!! WOOHOO ~ 3.6 grams of GOLD!!!!

That same day that I dug the ring I dug a few other goodies . . . . . in particular the 1925-s Merc dime . . . . it's in pretty good shape . . . the guy at the coin shop said it's a solid VF, but not quite a XF/EF.

THANKS for looking!!
Neil

The congratulation!

So, on the ring, I guess one is the makers mark and the other is the gold mark? Just guessing. lol Everything else is cool too!

awesome!! congrats

Awesome ring.

What detector were you using and what was the reading. Just curious have heard pure gold reads higher on the scale than like 10 or 14k would.

I have a Minelab eTrac ~ it came in a solid 12-35 . . . . . that's much higher than most gold rings come in on the eTrac

That is very interesting I had heard that high k gold would read up into the coin range. Thanks

Jason

I wonder how old it is
