James & Younger Cave Found December 20, 1890, Wednesday

Re: James & Younger Cave Found December 20, 1890, Wednesday

Thanks for the info Jeff. The article didn't say where the cave was.....it could have been in another state. The Northfield bank robbery occurred sometime in the fall of 1876....and the cave was found in 1890? Heck, Jesse died young in his early 30s, so the cave was found around 7 or 8 yrs after Jesse died. I just have a hunch the cave was in Missouri where Jesse hung out a lot. Again, thanks for the info.

it does say "In this vicinity" which
I would take as near there.

I Do see what you mean that it could
just be that the people of le sueur were excited :tongue3:
but doubtfull.

unless le sueur was very close to the Missouri boarder
which it ain't I'm going to Believe what it says.

However Don't rule out an Underground Bunker.
We used to make them as Kids.
Find a Hole & Cover it with Boards & Dirt & Rocks.
could have even been a basement covered over.
I Noticed the Paper called them Caves back then.

Anyway Good Luck !
I'll keep my eyes open for Updates.
There are still alot of Times Articles I
didn't get to yet.
