I'm pretty sure the EP is for Extra Plate, making it plated. But because of this maker it is probably worth around $800-$900. Super find.

This clarification was addressed in post #10.
If it didn't have the Minerve casquée' mark (head stamp) it would of been plated.

I'm more sure about you being incorrect that its extra silver plated. This piece is .950/1000 solid silver alloy, based on the French silver hallmarks on the upper and lower part of the piece. The EP mark is that of the marker of the piece, as stated by Red Coat on a previous

post.

The chart Tamroc posted that was circled in red mentions "Department Symbol under chin". But the symbol is in front of the forehead.
The next listing has a symbol under the chin but states the symbol should be in front of the forehead.

I wonder if I'm missing something or if the descriptions were reversed by accident.

It seems a bit off, but I was looking more at that border the minerve is in. That matched the hallmark on this cup. Guess I could've cropped out that part and spared the confusing part. I to noticed it after I posted it.

The images posted by @tamrock (reposted here again for clarity) are correctly captioned, but the wording is unintentionally ambiguous. The ‘department symbol’ is not actually shown in those images. The wording just says where it would be if it was shown. The numerals ‘1’ and ‘2’ are not the department symbols… they’re the designations for the two standards of silver (.950 and .800 respectively). The higher standard is also distinguished by the cartouche being rectangular with chamfered corners.

It’s clearer in these images. Note that in addition to the numerals ‘1’ and ‘2’ for the two silver standards, there are also symbols shown as ‘X’ where the department symbols are positioned.

There is a ‘1’ in front of the forehead on @tamrock’s piece, although it’s not very clear, and the cartouche has chamfered corners. I don’t see a department symbol, but those are not always present.
