Bear Effigies, there were very few buffalo around here. The Mimbres painted lot of bears on their pottery not one buffalo. They did find buffalo bones at some Casas Grandes sites in Chihuahua. The Spanish and natives post contact would travel from the Rio Grande valley to eastern NM and the Texas Panhandle to hunt buffalo
