I have been striking out with not a whole lot of finds lately. Took a trip up north and hunted with my cousins kid and DukeDavis, Duke found a nice silver bracelet and I found a beautiful lake up by my cousins ( I will go back to that lake)
Today I took my friends kid, Johnny, this was about the third or fourth time I have taken him. We went to a new lake and I ended up talking to a old timer, he was trying to be helpful with info about the lake and where things were years ago. He was very helpful, second spot he told me about I started hitting finds with the 1943 War Nickel first, three rings, three wheats, five other old nickels and my favorite fishing lure ever! The watch came up in the scoop like that(wrapped around and fastened to that rock)
Johnny found a silver sterling boy scout ring and a silver sterling religious medallion. He also found a wheat and clad.
Sorry I have not been around, I also have been catching up on things around the house visiting with family lately. I was talking to oldjerseygirl the other day, I'm trying to get her to hold the rope while I wade in waist deep mud. There is a jar of silver dollars there(I'll post more about that when I find it)

Enjoy the pix

Looks like you had fun with friends and hunting..with some fine treasures! Good to see you made it back..

Johnnie did great but what's a war Nickel?

Looks like you got some good stuff, I like that Fleur de Lis ring. Congrats.

Congratulations on yours and Johnnies finds, and good luck to you on the jar of silver dollars.

There you are! I was wondering if you were out bobbing in the ocean somewhere. Nice finds, but I like Johnny's BS ring best of all I believe.

I do too Dave, thank you

Cleaned up rings

I forgot to mention this little jar that rang like hells bells. It was very deep and sounded like silver. I had to pass it in front of my coil after I pulled it out of my scoop. After looking at it and scraping the bottom a little, I believe it is lead? If anyone knows what this is please chime in. It weighs 8 and three quarter ounces.20150803_214323.webp20150803_212806.webp

Little Cleo was a real life performer from the 1930's in New York City. The developer of this lure was "inspired" by Little Cleo, stamped a likeness on the backside of the spoon (topless bellydancer) and made her a namesake in 1953. In 1996 a female employee of a retail store took offense to the image and complaints forced the company to end this lures production.

COME ON TREBLE HOOK AT LEAST YOU DID TRY . THEY MAY NOT BE THE BEST , BUT THEY STILL ARE COOL FINDS.
