Got out today in the 90+ heat to try some detecting. Ended with a higher grade 1920 Merc, 1944-P WTN, a Sterling peace sign earring, and a sterling ring.
Towards the end of the hunt got a deeper signal. Figuring it was a wheat cent, it was a surprise to see a larger copper sitting in the dirt. Thought the one side looked like a seated lady. Got it home and I think it may be a Connecticut copper, but can anyone officially identify it... It's slightly smaller than a large cent, and I think I see "ONNE" on the right side of the obverse (looks to be a slightly off center strike). Is this a Connecticut copper? I know she's a little beat, but it's better than a wheat cent!
HH all!
