June 10 2006 - Standing Liberty & Merc!
Decided to go and hunt an old city park (dates back to the late 1800's) and within an hour found all this! I can't believe my luck! Also, all I searched was within a 5 ft. radius around an old tree! Needless to say, I'm going back to this park as soon as I can get! I bet there's alot more to be found. The standing liberty quarter was found about 6" underground, and I can't tell the date on it. The 1942 merc was about 5" underground, and you can see by the neck I scratched it up a little bit. The 1957-D wheat cent was found in the same hole as the merc! Good times!
