From the same site that gave up the large cent the other day, this small buckle and flat button made their way through the iron trash to my coil. Nothing earth-shattering, but I figured they were interesting enough to post.

The button is kind of neat. The front is plain and it's missing the shank, but there is clearly a backmark of some kind even though most of it has flaked away. The letter "D" is clear, and appears to be part of the word "GOLD" or "COLD." Looking very closely I possibly see the remnants of a floral design on the side opposite the 'D', but my eyes could be playing tricks.

Thanks for looking!
-Andrew

Nice looking finds Andrew, you're definitely on an old site there.
Based on the condition of your flat button and buckle, I'd say they may have been in a fire.

Of course, this may just be the corrosive effects of the soil in your area.

Nice buckle and button I see some other letters.

Good stuff!! looks like you're on a good spot. Hit from different angles, something might pop up?

Very nice finds. I agree with Tony...I'd work that site from multiple different angles. Good luck!
