Hey everyone,

Got out a few times here and there over the last month or so. I had to hang it up though for the most part when the ground froze over solid about a month ago.

Usually here in P.a where I am at I can hunt all winter long. But it just got to cold here this yr. So the few times I did get out more than half the soil was inpenatrable.

Just recently though the weather started to break and hit the 40's. It thawed out enough for me to get out the other day. I picked up a really beat 1920 merc at 8 to 10 inches down on a hard packed old wagon path.

This one was down in the clay and I almost left it behind. It was nice to see the sight of silver again. I was finally able to get down more than 4 inches and I started finding coins again.

The times I was out before you couldn't get deeper than 4 inches. So mainly surface finds and shallow relics were found.

I managed to cure my cabin fever with the few items I did come up with. Sometimes it's just nice to be out. Even if the finds aren't plentiful.

Hope you all like the pics

HH Jer

Well now thats a pile of treasure thats easy on the eye, I've spent awhile just gazing at all the goodies. Thanks for sharing.

Nice bunch of finds. Good you were able to get out. I figure in two more weeks I'll be able to get out in Northern Pa. Can't wait.

Things are starting to look better in the greater Pittsburgh area; glad to see someone able to take advantage of it.

beautiful transitional marble, that color is really cool, bet it glows like mad under UV. Bongo

You did great. It sure is nice to see someone that far north is finding goodies. Spring is coming fast!

Thanks alot everyone.

Cant wait to get out in full force again. I love this hobby. Glad you all liked the pics. I'm a little rusty right now on the photos.

Yeah the Burgh is finally thawing out. The marble was a nice one to find. It was in a hole with a target. I love to find old marbles. I find them alot in holes.

The DFX master is at it again.Great job jer!!

That looks like a spot that would be hard to stay away from. Such a variety of cool finds.

The possibility of an old coin makes it even more exciting! Don't worry! The warm weather is on its way.

Nice frozen finds!

Thanks alot everyone.

Jimmy don't make my head any bigger than it already is lol. Thanks for the kind words man.

The warm weather is right around the corner everyone. Just hang in there a few more weeks.

I got out today and did well. I hope to get out again tomorrow and see what else I can find. The ground is completely thawed out right now with all the rain.

I'll post the finds after tomorrow.

Dang Jer, awesome finds! That harmonica reed stands out to me, is it rounded? I have found hundreds of them or at least pieces, not whole intact reeds but, never a rounded reed like that. Is there a "made in USA" stamp on it, LOL! HH, Mike

Yea i feel your pain man up here in New Hampshire i think the frost went down at least 3 feet maybe closer to 4' but can't tell unless you have a excavator any way i hit the shores two or three times in the winter just to get a fix.Its about a 45 minute ride.
The good thing about a deep frost is that some believe it will bring stuff closer to the surface.
BTW nice finds.

Pretty sweet Jeremy....Good to see you're getting out...HH!!

Nice assortment ya found there. Glad somebody got a fix.
That is some psychodelic ring man. wow.

It doesn't look like the hard packed ground had slowed you down much Jer...
Great group of finds. That's a lot of dig'n for this time of year.
That ring looks like a leftover from the 60's, neat...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~
