Looks like one of those aluminum tax tokens? Many of those are from the 1930's. Nice Find!

That's a Mississippi tax token I find them all the time

Well I'll be....
I was away all weekend and just got back and had the opportunity to look under magnification since I have not cleaned it much and it is Mississippi
 

Tax tokens are quite often found "out of state". People traveling through got them in change and carried them home where they were useless for their intended purpose. So, give them to the kids to play "store" with and they end up in the ground.

I could tell by the square hole in the middle and I'm in Mississippi and have found tax tokens all the way from Washington State
