Hello,
Just registered but please simply tell me now so I don't waist my time. So Many forums will not talk to newbies. Never new why they let them join?
If it's an exclusive club, no problem and I'll be on my way.

Anyway, I'd like try your forum for possible help. I've enjoyed reading about buttons and other items in this forum. I been getting into old railroad items since i inherited a large lot of mostly 1800s RR pieces.
Right now I am looking for info on some buttons I found with a small lot of railroad buttons. Are they RR? I can't ID them and can't find any history on the backmarks? Any info on the manufacturers DSCN0002.webpDSCN0001.webpDSCN9999.webpDSCN9997.webp?

I'll see if I can figure out how to add pictures. I think I got them in?

Thanks for your time and any help,
Karl.

Welcome Karl, we were all newbies at one time or another.

Welcome from Illinois! Sorry I am not much help in identifying much yet.

We welcome new members "newbies" so no worries. Someone will be able to help you too.

Welcome Karl! I’ll be looking forward to seeing the items that you post.

Kendrick & co is a civilian button from the 1830s

Welcome to the forums. I think your pictures are very good. The shell front goes with the Kendrick back, doesn't it? I agree with ticndig's date on it. I think the other button is much newer.

Welcome to Tnet from the UK.:hello:

Welcome to Tnet from Toronto udo, nice looking buttons.
As the guys here have already indicated, your first button is mid-19thc, the second button looks to be 20thc modern.
