Hey Everyone,
Just found this site tonight. My 6yr old son has been wanting to learn how to gold pan, an we finally made it up to Jamestown, CA for a 2 hour guided session. He can't wait to do it again. I have no clue what I am doing since I have never done this before, but if he wants to keep going I'm willing to learn. Had blast with him in the water, getting dirty, and finding a few flakes.
Looking forward to learning from some of you what I need to do to make this somewhat productive for him. I live in Clayton, CA which is about 1.5 to 2 hours from El Dorado Hills, Placerville, etc areas.
Now, I just need to learn some places that are open to public use, and then figure out what gear to use.
