Just got an SE!!!!! Any tips for a bounty hunter 505 user?

It is easy. Just read the manual, at least the start up section. View the video if you got one. Assemble the unit and place all the settings at the suggested settings for beginning in the manual and go for it. A digging tool and pinpointer will help. If it it your own yard use a spade if you have it!

Take your time and pinpoint from each direction, otherwise you'll probably miss pretty bad the first while out.

Yes here is my advice. DO NOT GIVE UP! The first few times I took the Explorer out I wanted to scream, throw it, play in traffic and jump from a high building, not necessarily in that order.

Take your time. Listen as well as look at the graph and dig everything the first few hunts. You will soon learn where things fall on your screen.

Pinpointing is a challenge until you get the hang of it then it is rather easy to do.

Best advice I can give is start out in factory presets. After about 5-10 hunts, switch to Iron Mask and slowly start backing down the Iron Mask on each hunt. The more sounds you here, the more you'll find. When your new to the Explorer, the sounds are overwhelming, but after a while you'll understand what the detector is telling you.

Nothing beats that sweat sound of silver on an Explorer.
