Cant wait for it to geet here. I just ordered an AT Pro, 5x8 coil and a lesche digger. I plan on selling the stock coil when it gets here and using the 5x8 coil full time. Got a great deal on it also.

Im upgrading from an Ace 250 which Ive used for the last 6 years or so, and a $5 garden trowel. My 12yo daughter loves hunting so she will inherit the ace 250.

Do yourself a favor, keep the large coil. I use the smaller DD and love it but there's a difference in depth, not much but some plus the coverage area when swinging that big one is sometimes needed like out in a field or the beach. Other thing is what if for some reason your coil goes bad, like mine did 2 weeks ago and it took a week and a half to get new one to me. Luckily I still had my big coil and could hunt with the members on our monthly club hunt.

I agree with bzbadger...
I ordered the 5x8 coil and cover for the parks and such, and use the stock coil and cover for the beach, old churches and fields I hunt for relics...
I takes less time to cover a grass lot around an 1800 - early 1900 church with the large coil and they aren't usually real trashy like a park would be.

You will love it I love mine! Got mine from a place in south houston called alexander enterprises. The man that showed it to me is the man on the owners manual. He also showed me the three ring minnie ball he pulled out of a civil war battlefield at about 16" down. It is the minnie ball on the box. I also got my wife the ace 250 he took the time to set both of ours up. Couldn't be happier with our Garret's.

That's cool that he did that for you. I've noticed one thing that makes them really stand out above the others, their customer service. It can't be beaten by any other, they're the best and I may own one or two different manufacturers but im a Garrett man and I love their machines and how they take care of their ppl.

I bought a 5x8 for my AT Pro a couple of months ago. I put it on midway through a hunt and it gave a very weak signal even after swinging over my Sampson shovel. I contacted Garrett and they replaced it, no questions asked.

The cool thing about the smaller coil is that you can go back to your "hunted out spots" and pick between the trash signals. It brings more life to those places. I was able to find more coins and silver at a house that I had hunted a number of times with my stock coil.

I also agree that you need to keep both coils, so that if you ever sell the AT Pro you can entice a buyer and/or get a little more for the set-up versus having only one coil to sell.

If you would have ordered from big boys hobbies you would have got a free lesch digging tool

I did order from big boys hobbies through Bart. No free Lesche.

Mine came with a Garrett tool. Don't know where all the Lesch posts are coming from.

Good Looks on the smaller Coil...i have noticed a MAJOR difference with it...Look foward to see you Finds!

No free garrett digger either. Nothing free at all. I do see on his website where it states "free Lesche digger". Maybe that is only if you pay the high adveertised price? He did price match another store that was cheaper than his quote to me. Maybe if he price matches he doesnt do the free stuff?

I even asked if he couldd throw in one of the belt pouches with the deal but he said he couldnt, so I paid an extra $10 for one.

Even without free stuff, Im still happy with the price.

Hey Nathan, looks like we're in the same boat. I'll be upgrading to the Pro as well, and my 13 year old daughter will be getting the 250 hand down. Let us know how you like it.

Great choice Nathan, you can't beat the Pro for the money! Also good to see everyone ignoring the trolls!! :laughing9:

Congrats on the AT Pro! It's lightweight and fun to use!

LOL, I'm ordering the AT Gold and ordering the 8.5" x 11" coil.
Your going to notice a huge difference Nathan upgrading from the Ace.

Love the AT Pro, but also agree... Keep the stock coil.
