I like my ankles covered and arch support when hunting saltwater beaches, less sand in the shoes, but they would be good for non detecting water sports.

I know some guys that wear sandals or reef walkers
fresh water - no prob
but you get where there is coral in the sand and it get in your shoe - it can be a pain
lots of trial and errors when I first started water hunting
I wear a good soled dive boot -but like i said - i do know guys that would love these
Thanks for your service :notworthy: ...to our country and this forum

Thank you, sir. I tried low self-draining water shoes in the past but the sand that got into the shoe bothered me. I would use these though, for rafting, canoeing, and other water sports, they do look good. I have worn crocs detecting as well.

Yeah, those wouldn't work for me either. I like thicker soles and ankle protection along with thick 8mil material to help keep my feet warmer.
