Hello everybody, SE MI, here.

Been reading this forum for about a week, very cool and interesting.

(First time out ever) Saturday, kinda hot , very muggy, medium mosquito factor. The very first thing I dug up, my very first target aquired was a 1965 dime in my back yard. Later I hunted a 40 year old school yard, found maybe 14 clad, found older one's in my backyard, but I kinda expected that. Liked the way that it works, beep and it's there- coin or pulltab,or whatever. Know I have a lot to learn.

Sunday I found a cache in my back yard, would like to post pics of it, but my poor brain has yet to figure out how ( if someone could help me there, be'd appreciated.)

Monday I found more clad, and a stainless steel pocket watch (from Exotic Japan), so encrusted that I'm going to set the sensitivity of my jackhammer on high when I clean it. (Or would cleaning it lower it's value?)

Live right next to metro park that issues permits to md. Have asked permission from the city to hunt a site that had a high school (built around or before the 1930's, torn down several years ago.) The lady at parks and recreations said she couldnt see why not, but is going to check with city ordinance and call me tomorrow. And am going to ask a church (that has a yearly outdoor feastival with picnics and casino like games) for permission. My city was first settled around 1833, there is some history here, and I'm going to try and dig some of it up.

Hopefully soon I will have something better to report, better than my best coin yet. My cherished 1952 wheater.

I didn't know you needed a permit to MD at Metro.. I have been there several times, and have never been questioned.
I wave at the Park police as they drive by, and they wave back. I usually reserve my hunts to after 6:30/7:00 pm, when the park has cleared out for the most part.

I haven't found much clad at Metro, I believe their sand cleaning machines are very thorough. The grassy areas are littered with hundreds if not thousands of pulltabs.

Maybe we'll run into each other there sometime!
