Was the office building of a trucking company. Three story building that had an addition put on the back that basically doubled the length. Also had a truck garage behind it that was attached to the building by a long roof. Building was in an area with high taxes, no one was interested in buying it because of that. So the owner decided to knock it down. Got there a 1/2 hour after the start, but was a small crowd. I ended up getting all the plumbing and wiring in the entire building for $130. Did get enough tubing from the basement to pay what I paid for it. Also got two electrical services full of breakers for $30 and $50. Kinda sad whole, rooms with oak trim and Anderson windows were going for $5-10. Now just to get it out. Too bad copper dropped. Looks like I'll be sitting on it for awhile.

Nice finds. I'm sitting on a pile (copper) too. $4+ next year. :))) Can always hope.

I am sitting on 250+ lbs copper myself right now, waiting for it to go up. And adding to the pile every chance I get.

Good score! Keep in touch with the building owner/demo contractor. A lot of times people will buy the salvage and not take it all. Maybe some extra scrap for you for free!

Yeah, I hear you on the copper prices. I 'm thinking we are sitting on about 5 tons of all grades of copper right now. We are running out of room to store it all! Bad thing is low copper prices also effects the price of all the other E-scrap we have stockpiled.

It will come back, it always does. And most the time it will be higher than before!!!

Let's hope!

I hear ya. Today is the last day, and another guy gave me the basement, so gonna go grab whatever good is left. :icon_thumright:
