Kangaroo Bottle?

I found this at an estate sale today and wanted to know if its anything special. The back also has a measuring line from 1 to 7.

1 to 7 oz measuring mark -- I think its a monkey rather than a kangaroo (kangaroos tails do not curl)--- clearly might be some sort of medicence --with the dosing oz marks on the bottle --cool find

Looks like an apothecary bottle from the 1840's-1870's due to its top...Nice find..
