Must be thousands of those kinds of places scattered around the U.S. We had a big time sawmill here that operated back in the late 40s,early 50s. Stimson Bros. Shipped sawn lumber all across the U.S. It,s long gone now,I,m trying to get permission to detect the site,the son of one of the Bros.,his wife is my pharmacist.Good gal. I,m working thru her,the dude is a bit odd. Thanks jeff.

I’ve spent a lot of time a Kelley Stand. Never saw any buildings. Gonna have to talk to my old timer buddies up there.

I believe that was almost 90 years ago.
there may be indentations of former basements yet and signs of foundations though

About 10-15 miles that a way from Kelley stand is one of my addictions. In the early 1700’s they disassembled every house and building in town, meeting house, school, church and moved them about 3 miles away by oxcart down the mountain and rebuilt the town. Too much snow up top . They were snowed in all winter. The town’s most famous resident was John Adams, our second president. Found all kinds of neat colonial stuff there.
