I have over a thousand clad Kennedy halves from 1971 to present. What's or where is mybest bet to sell them? Are they worth more then face value or melt value? Thanks! Paul

I would cash them in. 1964(silver),65-69(40 percent silver),1970 on up clad. Buy you a nice detector or invest in some coins with it!

IMHO there is no premium melt value (nor silver) in '71+ Kennedy halves though those in MS-63 or better condition may be of value to collectors.

These are non-silver 1971 and later. Are they uncirculated? If they are circulated they are still worth 50 cents each. Use them at the convenience store and see the clerk either get excited or tell you they don't take foreign money.

If in perfect shape, never been in circulation, you will find collectors might pay a very little over face value for them.

1970 Kennedy halves are also 40% silver.

And the 1970-D is a rare coin. It was only minted and placed in "Mint Sets", never released to the public for everyday currency.

Paul go to coinflation.com it will tell you what they are worth I believe they are face value 1964 Kennedys are 90% silver 1965-1970 are 40 percent. double check it with the website.
