The Mrs was eating her lunch, and this hawk and a Dove smashed into the picture window.
The Dove was the bird bag for this hawk.
It sat by the Dove for a few minutes, by the railing then flew up on the branch to recover.

Thanks
They are part of the Falcon family, but it seems like the bird feeders in around the hamlet.
First time we've actually seen one up close, usually it's just some blood and feathers in the snow.
Great hunters.

Opportunist if they have lunch at the feeders, on the feeders feeding.
Free take out.
Same here. Drives my wife nuts there is one that has taken up residence here around our woods. I looked up what kind it was. I will try and find that tomorrow and share it. Not nearly as many squirrels now. I think it is a little bigger hawk.

Squirrels aren't on the menu around here, got the Black, Grey, Red.
Now the chipmunks is some great treats for the Blue Heron .

I had no idea. Learn something every day.
2 yrs ago it would take 4 or 5 everyday.
Then it was going through the bush taking them out.
Neighbors shot 75 in their garden.
We had the Blue Heron doing it naturally.
Now this past summer was a bit more tricky than the first year.
It was like those little Chipmunks knew that bird was going to eat them.
They were down right wary when it was around.
It was the DNA was implanted in one year.

Beautiful picture and glad to hear the window was not damaged
We had a bird crash into a window and somehow the window has a big scratch now. There s a hawk that tends to land in the same trees here and one day it saw a bluebird land on the top of their house and it took off from behind smashed into the house and took the bluebird away

I have a bird feeder on a tall pole that raises up & down. A Red Tail Hawk frequents the area and dove feathers are not uncommon. Once in awhile a squirrel will just not be around anymore so I think he grabs them occasionally too.
