Can anyone tell me what type of key this is? Found it behind an old house in the mountains. It's pretty large....5 1/2" long and 4" wide. Thanks. IMAG0031.webp

Not a clue but very unique. Someone here will be able to help out with this, i'm sure. Welcome to TNET!

Handcuff key? I don't know but that is one awesome key...Congratulations

It appears to be a water box key. The meter boxes don't use them anymore but the lids used to lock down and to get in the meter box you needed one of these keys. There used to be one in every plumbers toolbox.
Good Luck & HH

It looks like it could be a jailers key. They were used in heavy locks and your key looks like it was made so you could put pressure on it to unlock something.

Why hello hello Rhonda that is a cool find:thumbsup:
