Had a really exciting day detecting yesterday, not just because of what I found but my dad went with me. He was never the type to do "hobbies" or even take intrest into ours. Oddly he came up to me and said you wanna go spelunking, I know some places. Yes he calls anything outside in the woods spelunking,(Pops had brain surgery 14 years ago and lost some of his memories like what words to use where so he makes new ones). He had taken me to his old home town, an old cold mining town nothing fancy. I wasn't planning on finding much since this entire town was a stripmine. Not only got some quality and missed father and son time but found 4 mercs all 1940, 8 wheaties and alot of old wind up toys keys 8 total gonna have to come back and hit this a little harder. Best part is the day ended by dad saying, hey I should get one of those beeping sticks we could do this more often.

Hey good for you.. Nice you got some time with you father and scored some silver.. That's a great day in my book.. Congrats..

From the land of the Bluenose......great attitude and a double winner....quality time with a family member and silver. Would have been nice sir to see a few photos of the caves and area. Hope you get out again soon and look forward to your next post!

Doesn't get any better than that--never mind the Mercs, congrats on the father-son time...

didn't actually go spelunking just the word my dad uses since metal detecting was unfamiliar to him prior to the brain surgery, he lost some cognitave processes and short term memory. Makes for some funny conversations now though...
