beautiful piece. i'm surprised at the lack of bannerstones on this site. now all you have to do is to find the core!
 

That is so pretty. If anything the plow drag just creates more history for the item. I am glad it did not break it though. Close call. Have you ever heard that the stone other than creating more force in the throw also acted as a sound buffer to some extent? You know how animals jump the string even on a bow. I imagine many of those throwing systems were loud and blew apart when thrown and they went after the meal first and then came back to find they lost their pretty weight. Lucky us.
