I found these in an old house. They are made of wood, and the bottoms have felt stuff on them, as if to protect your furniture from scratches. They are 10" tall.

My first thought is something from the Art Deco period.

Does the top unscrew? If so, use 'em for papertowel holders. Otherwise, hat stands. -Noodle

Wow! You guys are awesome, as always! I have to ask.. is this site typically for metal detector finds? I would hate to impose all the time.

Hi Crikkitx,
Welcome to the Forum! Nawwww, this particular site is for anything that is a "What Is It?" Stuff you find anywhere -- garage sales, the basement, uncle George's secret closet. It's an interesting site. Visit often!

Thank you! I was holding my breath hoping. This is the most awesome site I have come across! :)

Should have referred you to PBK to start with! Looks like he found it!

Then you must be quite pleased that I took them all under my wing and taught them.

Seriously, I agree more than 100%. Great People!! Wish they were all my next door neighbours.

Yeah! Even you Montana Jim! Every Neighbourhood must have a Block Cop!

The first thing I thought of was a pair of boot driers. Put the boot on it upside down and let it dry. Swizzle

LOL! Well, that's probably the only thing I haven't been called! :D
We're all included in that "we," of course, but I do count it an honor to be among such distinguished company.

Time to trot out my old signature from long ago, I guess:

Everybody knows something.
Nobody knows much.
We're all in this together.
;)
