I just finished re-reading "Pieces of Eight" and it got me wondering. Whatever happened to all the information on the microfilm they got from the spanish archives. Who has the translations. What happened to the information his researchers gathered.

Translations are available in special collections (not for checkout) at a few FL libraries, incl:
Monroe County Pub Lib in Islamorada (newer rendition - 132 pages)
Indian River Main Lib in Vero Beach (older w/handwritten notes - 122 pages)

I think other Indian River County libraries may have it too - call first.

Just ask for the Jack Haskins report on 1715 wrecks. They're loose-leaf typed US Letter-size pages.

I dunno about microfilm. See some recent discussion on that here: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/shipwrecks/397367-ships-1715-fleet.html#post3829678

Wouldn't it be great if it were online?

It's not tough.

The "original" 3000 feet of microfilm's whereabouts is just another mystery of the 1715 Fleet

I'm unfamiliar with this; what is the 3000 feet of microfilm?

I'd be happy to upload my scanned file (the 132pp) which has OCR searchability. HOWEVER, I don't know the copyright implications, so I don't dare without permission, & I have no idea how to get that.
