i have a friend Al Schindler from Mandan who has been my friend for over 30 years
he has been knapping for that long also
yesterday he showed up at my shop and gave me this knife and buffalo he made
he showed me his round hammer stone for percussion flaking and his pressure flaking tool
the pressure flaking tool was a piece of white tail deer antler with a penny embedded into the slotted end with only about a sixteenth of an inch of it exposed
the red colored material is from colorado and i can't remember what the buffalo is made from
i don't know how to do knapping
i thought it was nice of him to gift it to me
this is the only modern knapped piece i have
