Kohlmeyer and $80,000 in robber's gold
Wilson's book Okla. Treasures and Treasure Tales.
Th. Terry's Treasure Atlas of the U.S.
The story basically is: several large deep holes appeared in the field in the early 1930s.
In 1932 a landowner sat up late watching and saw a light.
Caught one of the diggers.
They were looking for $80,000 in "robber's gold".
Does anyone know who is alledged to have buried the gold?
If so, did or does someone have a map?
Back some years ago a partner and I had a few looks and think we know where some old digging took place. At the time, corps of engineers had property. Kohlmeyer family got the land back, so
now one should seek permission from them.
Story was published in Claremore newspaper in 1932.
No mention of who hid loot, maps, etc.
Anybody know any more details?
